MAB Development is developing the so-called The BTower in the centre of Rotterdam, next to the famous Bijenkorf department store. The project will create a mix of shops, residences and parking places.

Design
Designed by renowned architect Wiel Arets, The BTower consists of 20 floors with a total height of 70 metres. The first three floors, covering some 4,000 m², will be home to a branch of clothing store The Sting. The next two layers will be parking areas, with the other 15 floors being residential apartments. Here MAB Development will realise 54 studios for sale and another 24 apartments for rent, with parking spaces reserved for the residents. Construction started in the fourth quarter of 2009 and delivery is scheduled for the end of 2011.

Living in the centre of Rotterdam
The private properties will range in size from 45 m² to 75 m², and the rental apartments from 90 m² to 120 m². All will have an interior design from the boards of Wiel Arets, who is also responsible for the exterior. The architect is renowned for an exceptionally high level of finishing and large outdoor spaces. In this respect the project will help facilitate the goal of Rotterdam council to ensure that young and well educated people continue to live in the city centre.
