This public-private retail project on the west coast of Normandy demonstrates the synergies to be gained from multinational cooperation between acknowledged experts in their fields. It is also unique for the integrated and sustainable approach being taken to architecture and landscape.

One of our current projects is the groundbreaking ‘Honfleur The Style Outlets’ Outlet Centre. The original tender asked for a development that would boost, extend and complement existing regional activities and economy in the tourism, hotel and catering sectors. A joint plan submitted by MAB and Spanish factory outlet operator Neinver was chosen for its clever attuning to existing functions and clear economic advantages.

Located beside the Pont de Normandie, Honfleur, The Style Outlets will be integrated into its environment as part of a new ecological zone. The innovative design is by Parisian architect Edouard François, a leading ‘green architecture’ specialist and urban planner. Housing around 100 leading brands, the outlet will be built with sustainable materials, recycle rainwater and showcase energy-efficient solutions such as solar panels.

In addition to visionary ideas, MAB is contributing its expertise in developing commercial areas in city centres and suburbs. Neinver will manage, lease and invest in the project, while the Regional Government of Calvados, the Town of Honfleur, Rouen Port and the local Chamber of Commerce are all playing an active role. When completed in 2012, the ultimate beneficiaries of this partnership will be tourism, the economy, architecture and the environment
