Once home to greenhouses and marshes, MAB’s multi-functional Wateringse Veld development is the very essence of smart 21st-century shopping and living.
The project consists of a high-quality shopping centre with a modern and open character. It is centrally located near a car-free pedestrian square where local bars and restaurants have terraces in summer. A range of good-sized apartments have been built above the shops. In combination with another MAB development in the neighbourhood, the Hoge Veld shopping centre, the Lage Veld forms the social hub of the Wateringse Veld area.
Delivered by MAB in 2003, the shopping centre is easy to reach by public transport and has a car park with around 115 spaces. We paid a great deal of attention to accessibility and comfort in the overall design. A glass awning surrounding the building shields shoppers from rain or wind, creating a very pleasant shopping experience.
The Wateringse Veld neighbourhood is one of the successful residential developments concepts called Vinex locations in the Netherlands. It is directly connected to the city centre of The Hague.
