A large retail centre that houses twenty top stores, a library, catering facilities and apartments, the Hoge Veld proves the value of partnership.

MAB Development recently completed this new shopping centre on the outskirts of The Hague, which is the seat of the Dutch government. It was carried out in close cooperation with the city council, developers Wateringse Veld and ING Real Estate. Opened in 2008, the development was immediately popular with some of the biggest names in Dutch retailing, including HEMA and Albert Heijn.

The Hoge Veld project is located in the former polder and greenhouse area between the cities of Rijswijk and Wateringen. It is the second shopping centre in this outer-city development, residential areas that are called Vinex locations in Holland. The retail centre has a local function for the residents of the area, while also attracting inhabitants of nearby neighbourhoods. In addition to retail space, MAB was also responsible for the development of a large parking garage, a public library and catering facilities.

The complex has a modern appeal with a covered indoor square and two beautifully designed entrances from the street. Apartments are situated above the commercial space.
