De Kroon is part of an extensive MAB redevelopment project called The Hague New Centre. When completed in 2011, this high-rise building will consist of residential units, offices and retail space.

The ambitious New Centre plan that includes the Wijnhaven district and an area where a couple of government ministries are situated is aimed at strengthening The Hague's position as an international institutional and business centre. It will create a series of dramatic public spaces that will be enjoyed both by its own residents and visitors from around the world.

The Wijnhaven quarter development is MAB's largest redevelopment project since the adjacent De Resident project. The first of two phases will see us partner with HaagWonen to develop two ministries and a 125-metre apartment building. This will be followed up by the transformation of the area that currently houses the ministries in question. Again executed with HaagWonen, this second phase will consist of several office and residential towers, a hotel and various leisure and cultural facilities.

The De Kroon building is adjacent to MAB's De Resident, Richard Meier's City Hall and the Dutch Dance Theatre.
