In the middle of Frankfurt/Main on the Zeil - one of the most visited shopping streets with the highest turnover in Germany - one of the most significant city centre projects was developed: the PalaisQuartier.
With its varied architecture and its multiple possible uses the new PalaisQuartier forms an urban living space for the people’s different expectations and desires: working, shopping, chilling out, enjoying and living. The compacted urban location required a horizontally and vertically linked up architectural concept in the process.
The office location on the Zeil and the ‘Große Eschenheimer Straße’ which has been used for more than 50 years exclusively by the Post Office became revitalized with four new buildings: the office tower NEXTOWER, the hotel Jumeirah Frankfurt, the Thurn und Taxis Palais as well as the shopping centre MyZeil.
The new Thurn-und-Taxis-Platz connects the different buildings and is used as a public space for the entire district. This new space also creates a central, prestige address in the city. The Palais is located close to the S-and U-Bahn stations ‘Hauptwache’. The main station and the fair are only 5 minutes away. Direct trains take you within 15 minutes to the international airport.
The office tower NEXTOWER located at the Thurn-und-Taxis-Platz is a new and attractive location for global-acting tenants with the highest demands.
The NEXTOWER enriches the city center of Frankfurt and gives the city its distinctive and widely recognizable landmark. In addition to that it enables the new tenants a breath-taking view of the financial district skyline. The remarkable location in the city centre offers companies and their employees, visitors and customers an urban environment with attractive leisure activities, diverse cultural institutions and excellent shopping facilities. In the immediate vicinity of the NEXTOWER you will find numerous restaurants and cafés.
The new shopping dimension MyZeil offers high-quality shopping facilities, leisure and fitness activities and a great variety of restaurants. Thus it creates an unique and diverse sectoral mix which fulfils every customers’ needs beneath the same roof.
Thereby the MyZeil strengthens the city centre of Frankfurt as a retail location. The shopping and leisure world MyZeil was designed by the Italian architect Massimiliano Fuksas. Conditioned by its multilayered levels, strained lines and unusual perspectives a new architectural dimension with an urban component has been created. The chosen concept of transparency and openness connects all levels of an eight-storey atrium. A particular highlight is the unique roof construction with its organic impression composed of different sizes and structure of glass panes. This predominantly transparent outer cover has natural light flooded to all levels of the shopping center MyZeil.
An escalator leads the visitors into the fourth floor in 120 seconds directly of the first floor. With about 50 meters this express way is the longest internal suspended escalator in Europe.
With the hotel Jumeirah Frankfurt at Thurn-und-Taxis-Platz a five-star hotel presents itself for an international audience in the middle of the heart of Frankfurt. The 96 meters high tower corresponds with the neighboring 135 m high office tower NEXTOWER in his sculptural form. The exclusive location in the middle of the center offers the guests besides a look at the unique skyline of Frankfurt and an urban environment in close walking distance to the Zeil - one of the most visited shopping streets in Germany -, to the ,Fressgass' as its culinary continuation as well as the “Wallanlage” as a public park.
With the Thurn und Taxis Palais Frankfurt has a special jewel returned.
The baroque city palace was built between 1729 and 1739 and destroyed in the Second World War and is now rebuilt on the lines of its historic predecessor. The successful integration of the historical building into the whole ensemble of the PalaisQuartierconnects tradition and modern age.
The inner courtyard offers a retreat possibility in the midst of the pulsating town and completes the supply of inner municipal free areas with that.
The largest inner-city basement car park in Frankfurt is located under the PalaisQuartier. It commands 1.396 parking spaces. On the basis of the cities new infrastructure the MyZeil/PalaisQuartier Car Park is accessible optimally via the ‘Große Eschenheimer Straße’ and Frankfurt’s inner-city circle.
